Commuter Connections

Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG). August 2013 to present.

Commuter Connections is the regional TDM program for the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Media Beef has been a software development and support partner for it continuously since August 2013, across multiple successive contracts. Twelve-plus years without a gap is the credential we point to most often, because platform work is judged by what happens after launch.

The scope has grown with the program. We have built and supported ridematching, vanpool, gamified incentive, employer de-duplication, and school ridesharing systems. Specific deliverables include the CarpoolNow mobile app, a Flexible Vanpool real-time seat-matching module, and the incenTrip gamification platform.

We also provide TDM technology and incentive platform services for the program today, which means we are the team on call when a commuter cannot log a trip or an administrator cannot pull a report. That accountability shapes how we build. Set-based database work, indexed lookups, and pagination are what keep a shared regional system responsive while a hundred thousand records move through it.
